Who we are

The International Lime Association ILA was founded November 27, 1970, in Paris. The founding members were: Belgium, Finland, Germany, Japan, South Africa, Sweden, United Kingdom and the USA. Up to 2007, ILA has expanded strongly and nowadays counts 34 members.

Based on the By-Laws, the members focus their activities on three main issues:

  • exchange of economic evolution
  • monitoring technical development and
  • international exchange of technical experience (International Lime Congress)

The Secretariat of the ILA has rotated by the end of 2006. Since 1st January, 2007, the Bundesverband der Deutschen Kalkindustrie in Cologne (Federal Association of the German Lime Industry) is in charge of the Secretariat.
