Evening Programme

Welcome Reception
All participants are warmly invited to join the Welcome Reception at the hotel MELIÃ BERLIN on Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 at 07:00 pm.
 
Gala Dinner
On Thursday, October 7th, 2010 the Gala Dinner will be held at the "Silbersaal".
The "Silbersaal" was formerly part of the Grand Hotel Esplanada, which was once the centre of Berlin's hip society in the 1920s, where movie stars and statesmen hob-knobbed, raising a glass to optimism and fund.
Be enchanted by this fascinating building that was refurbished after the historical events of World War II and the Berliner Wall came down and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere in the style of the 1920s.
The entrance tickets will be handed out on site at the conference venue (if registered).
 

Accompanying Persons' Programme

We have also arranged a special tour in Berlin for all accompanying persons' on October 7th, 2010 and warmly invite you to join this tour.

Guided Tour: Walk along the boulevard Unter den Linden
Experience the city at its best in this three-hour guided walk of the historic 'Mitte' district in the centre of Berlin. Entertaining stories tall and true from old Berlin will bring the imperial and royal residence back to life.

The route will take you past the Berliner Dom (Berlin Cathedral), the 'Zeughaus' arsenal and the 'Neue Wache' war memorial to the Brandenburg Gate and then on to the Gendarmenmarkt, considered by many Berlin experts to be the finest square in the city.
You can sample typical specialities from the region in the "Refugium" restaurant in the 'Französischer Dom' (French Cathedral) at the Gendarmenmarkt.

The tour will be held in English.

Post Conference Tour

On Friday, October 8th, 2010 the organizer offers a half-day-tour to the power station "Schwarze Pumpe", which is located in an industrial area close to Cottbus, 150km away from Berlin. "Schwarze Pumpe" is a modern lignite-fired power station and started on the world's first "carbon-dioxide free" oxyfuel test facility in pilot scale.

We have arranged a bustransfer from the hotel to "Schwarze Pumpe" and back.

Arrival time back at the hotel MELIÃ BERLIN: approx. 03:00 pm
